an oldie but a favorite

I've been looking back at some of the older stuff I've done and I found this card that I made for my mom last September. This card turned out to be one of my most favorite ones that I have made. I love the colors and the country/rustic feel of it.

The papers are by October Afternoon. The envelope by Maya Road. I love the denim flower! I think I need to make more of those :)

I've been a bit laid up lately. I have an injured wrist that I'm going to have to go have x-rayed. Probably tomorrow. It won't keep me from crafting, though!! :)

a birthday

Here's a card that I made for a lady at work.

I used papers from the February kit at Scrappy Chics. The swirl bling was from an older kit from SC. The pink flowers were from my stash.

Thanks for looking!!

Wordless Wednesday--Caught in the act

How could I be mad at her for using my expensive glue, ALL my little jewels and my never been opened ink when she tells me she's making something for me?

oops!

When I posted my projects done with February's Scrappy Chics kit, I forgot to add this layout.

This is of Bekah (again!) with her most prized possessions (at the moment). My Little Ponies are so sweet...I love their little "cutie" marks on their back leg. I remember playing with MLP when I was a bit older than her. Its crazy how history repeats itself :)

Anyway, on to the layout...

Everything you see is available in the kit, except for the pink roses (my stash) and the white lace ribbon (a previous kit).

I really wanted to use the swirl bling, but it just seemed to big for my layout. So I trimmed it down and it fit perfectly. :)

I still have a few more projects to show with this months kit. I'll be sure to post those real soon!

cha favorites

With CHA Winter all over and done...which lines were your favorite? I was really impressed with CHA this year. Here are the lines that are at the top of my wish list. Hint, hint...Melinda :)

Fabulous by Simple Stories

Awesome by Simple Stories

Woodland Park by October Afternoon

Miss Caroline by My Minds Eye

Follow your heart by My Minds Eye

London Market by Pink Paislee

Spring Jubilee by Pink Paislee

Aren't they all just wonderful?! What lines did you like if they aren't listed here? I'm hoping to see some of this stuff in future Scrappy Chics kits. And I'm pretty sure one of these lines will be :)

February

I'm so glad January is over. Ugh. It was a dreadful month. I will elaborate later, but for now lets relish in the fabulous kit for February from Scrappy Chics! This first layout is of dear, sweet Bekah. She had fallen asleep on the couch all decked out in her "Cowgirl Jessie" costume. Boots included.

I really love this line by October Afternoon. Love how the colors can be used for a girl or a boy.
The little yellow roses were white. I sprayed some yellow mist on them to match the papers.
Hmm...I think the banners are becoming a trademark for me just like the butterflies. Lol.--------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This next layout is another one of Bekah. This is what happens when you give a 3 year old a pair of funky glasses...
The grey ruffles with the rhinestones was in a past Scrappy Chics kit. The black flower is the lace that comes in the kit. I cut it in half and then twisted it into a flower. The birdcage was cut from my Cameo (love!!) that I got for Christmas.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On this next project I finally used my Cinch!! And it was so easy! I made this sketch book for one of my girlfriends daughter.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fianlly, this last project is a card that I made for a lady at work. Like I said before, I really love this line!!
Please make sure you stop by the Scrappy Chics blog to see what the other ladies did with this months kit. There is also a chance to win some free scrappy goodies on the blog as well. Thanks for stopping by!
