July!!

July? Already?! The new kit from Scrappy Chics is filled with so many goodies :)
Be sure to go to the website to order your kit before they are all gone!!

Here's what I did with my kit:

Pretty in Pink...I absolutely love this hexagon paper!! I really didn't want to cut it up because it's too pretty. But where's the fun in that? :)

No longer a Baby...Yep, my baby girl turned four last month. Sigh. I just knew I'd be creating a layout of her birthday party. What I didn't know was how perfect the add on kit is for birthday layouts!! The Echo Park kit is truly fabulous!

Nature boy...This layout is from a sketch from Sketch~N~Scrap. Be sure to check out their challenge this month. You could win a Scrappy Chics Addicted to Paper kit!

Silly kids...This is probably the simplist layout I have done in quite a while. No butterflies, no banners, no flowers. Wow. I love the pictures of the kids so much, I just wanted the focus on them and their silly faces.

And that's it! Four layouts in and I still have a TON of scrapping goodies left! Please be sure to check out the website to see what the other ladies did with their kits...here.

It's June!!

Oh my goodness! This months kit at Scrappy Chics is absolutely divine!!! Please make sure to get yours before they are all gone!

I made this card and goodie tin for a teacher at school. The can was from some hot chocolate. I love recycling containers like this!

This is a layout of me and my honey. I really need to do more layouts of us :)

Another project that I did for a teacher. I reused an old My Minds Eye container for this one.

Another look...

This layout of me and the kids has to be one of my favorites! I really love the colors...For the "white wash" effect, I just put some white paint on the paper and used an old credit card to smear it all over. I love how it turned out!

This last card was for my mom for Mother's Day. I made a fabric rolled flower to go with it. (They are so easy!!)

Scrappy Chics kits are now available for purchase on Facebook! Make sure you are a fan and be entered to win in random contests!

Don't forget to see what the rest of the design team did with this months amazing kit...Here :)

May's kit

I'm late at posting the projects for May...sorry. I've been such a slacker. Anyway, the May kit from Scrappy Chics is very cute!!

This first card is from an idea that I found on Pinterest. I love the tags with the twine in between.

Don't ask me what kind of funky stitch I used on the tags...my daughter has a tendency to play with the settings on my sewing machine. It's always a surprise when I want to sew!!

This next layout is of Miss Bekah on her "low rider", aka--the bike that is really too small for her but her new bike is too big. The letter stickers were from a previous Scrappy Chics kit.

This layout of Gavin was a bit different for me to create. I used my Silhouette to cut out the Dr. Seuss quote and then used it like a stencil. I used black paint, but using some mist spray would work well, too.

The following card was a last minute birthday card for a teacher at work. I mean last minute. As in, oh shoot I have to go to work in a half hour and its so and so's birthday today! Yikes!

Here's another card from Pinterest inspiration.

Um, and another. Can you tell I am a Pinterest junkie?

On this last card I used letters from my stash of previous Scrappy Chics kits. I love that stash :)

Be sure to check out what the other ladies did with their kits. I love how inspiring they are! You can see them here.

Have a great weekend!

I lied!!

Did I say tomorrow? Um, I guess I meant when I get around to it. Here's the mini album that I should've posted a MONTH ago.
Everything I used in this kit (except for Maya Mist) was either in the April kit from Scrappy Chics or from previous SC kits.

Sorry it took so long for me to post...I get lazy and hate waiting for my pictures to load up :)

Up next: May's projects (really, I promise!!)

before and after

It's been well over a month since Bekah found the scissors and gave herself a beeeaaa-uuuuutiful haircut. With bangs. I never showed the before and after.

Here it is.

BEFORE

and AFTER

See how grown up she looks? While the bangs did grow on me for awhile (no pun intended), I am now at the stage of missing her forehead dearly. Soooo...we are going to try and grow them out again :)

She really loves her bangs, but so far so good...she's been letting me put the barrettes in her hair to keep it out of her eyes. So I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Remember that mini album I did for Scrappy Chics? Remember how I never posted pictures from it? Yeah, I remember, too. Come back tomorrow and I'll have the pictures up. :)

Scrappy Chics April Kit

I'm really late on this one, I know. I'm recovering from a bad cold so I really haven't had much oomph lately. Anyway, Melinda did it again and made a super fabulous kit.

Thanks for looking. Sorry its short and sweet tonight. I'm still pretty beat. I have a mini album to share and I'll post that in a few days.

Have a great weekend!

Surprise!!!

One day last week Bekah decided to surpise me with something that she did. Something that she thought was so awesome.

She cut her hair.

Putting it mildly, I freaked. It was one of those moments that you wish you could rewind just 5 minutes. One of those moments that you have to keep asking yourself if it really happened.

She was so proud of herself. She actually did a good job cutting herself some bangs!

The pictures I took don't really show the damage she did. She chopped her hair off on both sides starting at her chin. And took a small chunk out of the back.

After I calmed down, I found poor Bekah in her room, in her bed, crying. My freak out gave her the impression that I was mad and so she thought she was in trouble.

After I told her I wasn't mad, we scheduled an emergency trip (and a first) to the hair salon. The hairdresser was able to layer her hair and leave the majority of the length. I will post a before and after picture in a couple days. Bekah has been quite the stinker about letting me take a good picture of her.

But she looks so grown up, now.

Sigh.

March layouts

I'm finally getting back on here to post the rest of my projects that I did with the March kit from Scrappy Chics.

The first layout is my take on this. I know these aren't the best pictures of Bekah, but I love the "feel" of the pictures. You can almost feel the excitement she has being spun in the air.

This next layout is of Gavin...and one of the many ways this boy makes me laugh!!

I just recieved my design team kit for April...oh my. Its gorgeous! I can't wait to get started on it!!
